Nelda Lucille Hitchcock Rutledge

Cleveland, TN resident and Warren County native Nelda Lucille Rutledge, age 88, was born August 10, 1925 and died May 6, 2014 at Life Care Centers of America in Cleveland, TN following a brief illness. A homemaker and member of the Church of God, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Marlin and Laura George Hitchcock. She was married February 1, 1944 to Thomas Eldridge Rutledge who preceded her in death. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by five children, Doris Rutledge, Susie Lee Rutledge, Edwin Rutledge, Harold Rutledge and Samuel Rutledge. Mrs. Rutledge is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Doyle and Chumwon Rutledge of Cleveland, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Billy Seals of Cleveland, TN; three granddaughters, Joann (Barry) Johnson of Cleveland, TN, Lee Rutledge of Polk County, TN and Ashley Seals of Charleston, TN and two great-grandchildren, Casey and Brandon Johnson. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014 in High's Chapel with Bob McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in the Campaign Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service Saturday at High's.
