Claudia Jo Stanton

Claudia Jo Hallum Stanton, age 89, a McMinnville, TN resident and DeKalb County, TN native was born March 1, 1925 and died May 23, 2014 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness. She was a homemaker and member of the Dibrell Church of Christ and daughter of the late Charles Stenson and Lula Louis Austin Hallum. She was married November 15, 1945 to Frederick Maynard Stanton, Jr. who preceded her in death October 7, 2007. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brother, A.P. Hallum. Mrs. Stanton is survived by son, Charles (Denise) Stanton of the Centertown Community; two daughters, Jeanette (Dannye) George, Centertown Community and Peggy (Garry) Adcock of McMinnville; six grandchildren, Christa George Wood of Memphis, TN; Tracy Adcock and Jamison Stanton of McMinnville, TN; Kelli Adcock Taylor, Murfreesboro, TN; Stanton Adcock, Nashville, TN and Jordan Stanton of Spring Hill, TN; six great-grandchildren; sister, Lucy Hallum of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday May 27, 2014 at the DeKalb Cemetery in Smithville, TN. Wayne Cantrell will officiate. Visitation will be 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at High's.
