Lewis Gene Copley

Rock Island, TN resident and Blanchard, OK native Lewis Gene Copley, age 86, was born September 29, 1927 and died May 23, 2014 at Raintree Manor following an extended illness. A retired meat cutter with Copper Cellar Corporation, a United States Navy veteran of WWII and a member of the Christian Worship Center in Whitwell, TN, he was the son of the late Clyde and Mary Gladys Carpenter Copley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Duncan; and two brothers, Raymond Copley and Sonny Copley. He is survived by four children and their spouses, Carlos and Tonia Copley of Rock Island, TN, Lewis Gene Copley, Jr. of Knoxville, TN, Samuel and Jamie Copley of Rock Island, TN and Susie Nyquest of San Diego, CA; nine grandchildren, Justin, Dakota, Lucus and Autumn Copley, Jacob and Ashley Bellew, Skyland Beachem, Sophia Ashburn and Jeremy Nyquest; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday, May 26, 2014 in High's Chapel with Allen Griffith officiating. Burial will follow in Asbury Cemetery with full military honors administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Monday at High's.
