James M. Thomison, age 92, a McMinnville, TN resident and Van Buren County, TN native was born May 10, 1922 and died June 22, 2014 at his residence following a short illness. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of W.W.II, retired supervisor with Cumberland Lumber Company, member of the Bybee Branch Church of Christ and son of the late James Marion and Niveah Hennessee Thomison. He was married July 1, 1943 to Nellie Groves Thomison who preceded him in death April 14, 2009. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by brother, Glen Thomison. Mr. Thomison is survived by daughter, Judy (Robert) Kelsey of McMinnville; two grandchildren, Regan (Jenny) Kelsey and Valerie Wells of McMinnville; five great-grandchildren, Peyton Kelsey, Walker Kelsey, Kaitlin (Chris) Fults, Charis Wells and Douglas Wells, brother, Ray Thomison of McMinnville, TN; sisters Joyce Rowland and Linda (Ray) Hale of Rock Island, TN and Betty (Jimmy) DeArmond of McMinnville. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2014 in High's Chapel with Tony Lawrence and Jimmy Priestley to officiate. Interment will follow in the White Hill Cemetery in Van Buren County. Military grave rites will be conducted by V.F.W. Post 5064 and American Legion 173. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. until time of service at High's.
