Fred Junior Rigsby

Fred Junior Rigsby, age 86, a Rock Island, TN resident and Warren County, TN native was born August 26, 1928 and died September 9, 2014 at his residence following a brief illness. He was a retired employee of Powermatic, and along with his wife, Jewell, owned Rigsby Nursery & Landscaping. He was a member of Fall City Baptist Church and son of the late Elbert and Willie Pauline Hutchins Rigsby. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Jeannie Diann Rigsby; sisters, Wilma Stevens and Linda Rigsby; brothers, Ray Fisher, Paul, Charles and Bobby Rigsby. He was married to Jewell Lovitt Hicks Rigsby who survives. He is also survived by children, Jimmy (Carol) Rigsby, Morrison, TN, Jeffery (Robin) Rigsby, Patsy (Gary) Surber and Bob (Kathy) Hicks all of Rock Island; grandchildren, Shonda Jacobs of McMinnville, Joshua Hathcock, Shannan Earls and Amber Brackley of Rock Island, Tabitha Oakley of Yelm WA, Brandy Rigsby of Murfreesboro and Ashley Watson of Knoxville, TN; twenty-four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Ted (Lois) Rigsby, McMinnville, Earl (Eva) Rigsby of Campaign, TN; sisters-in-law, Wanda Rigsby, McMinnville and Loretta Rigsby of Muncie, IN. Several nieces and nephews survive along with special friend, Sue Jones. Mr. Rigsby loved life and enjoyed helping people. He enjoyed raising a garden and sharing it with friends and family, especially his great-granddaughter, Emma, who loves tomatoes. He will be missed by many. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 13, 2014 in High's Chapel with Joey Spicer and Eddie "Buddy" Reed to officiate. Interment will follow in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in White County, TN. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday until time of service at High's.
