Ernest Thomas Morton

McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Ernest Thomas Morton, age 83, was born November 22, 1930 and died October 27, 2014 at his residence following an extended illness. The owner of Morton's Horticulture Products and of the Baptist Faith, he was the son of the late Johnny and Willie Green Morton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Dorothy Bragg. He was married July 8, 1949 to Pearl Whiteaker Morton of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children and spouses, Tony Morton, Larry and Sonya Morton and Lisa Morton all of McMinnville; eight grandchildren, Trent Morton, Teri Nunley (Rob), Arianna Becerra, Chasity Simerly and Kaci Chilton all of McMinnville, Annie Tutt of Jacksonville, FL, Kristi Patterson of Chattanooga, TN and Hunter Chilton of Cookeville, TN; one great-grandchild, Parker Nunley of McMinnville; two half-sisters, Brenda Hickey and Gail Hillis both of McMinnville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 29, 2014 in High's Chapel with Bill Zechman officiating. Burial will follow in Faulkner Cemetery @ Pike Hill. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service Wednesday at High's.
