Nellie Jo Whitman Rains

McMinnville, TN resident and Coffee County, TN native Nellie Jo Whitman Rains, age 83, was born December 6, 1930 and died November 2, 2014 at Raintree Manor following an extended illness. A homemaker and member of East End Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Buford and Nellie Travis Whitman. She was married to Willie Rains who preceded her in death 1978. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Berleen Prater and Dorothy Latimer. She is survived by sister, Kathleen Woodward of Murfreesboro, TN; brother and sister-in-law, Buford and Joan Whitman of Buffalo Grove, IL; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service and interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2014 with Kevin Key officiating. There will be no visitation at High's. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to East End Church of Christ.
