Larry Larwood Abston

McMinnville, TN resident and Chattanooga, TN native Larry Larwood Abston, age 77, was born June 13, 1937 and died November 3, 2014 at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Abston was a retired Safety Specialist at AEDC and a member of Smyrna Church of Christ. He was retired from the United States Air Force and was a veteran of Vietnam. He was a life-time member of the VFW, and a member of the American Legion, the D.A.V., and the Winchester Lions Club. He was the son of the late James William and Mina Lorene Turner Abston. He was married September 28, 1963 to Margaret Ann Martin Abston of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Jennifer Abston of McMinnville and Valerie and Andy Giles of McMinnville; grandson, Jeremiah Giles; numerous cousins; and two brothers-in-law, G.A. Martin and wife Kathy of Morrison, TN and Robert Martin of McMinnville. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 7, 2014 in High's Chapel with Ronnie Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Smyrna Cemetery with full military honors administered by the United States Air Force Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Friday at High's. Memorials may be made to your favorite charity.
