Irving College Community resident and Warren County native Cheatham Carlyle Hobbs, age 90, was born June 18, 1924 and died November 16, 2014 at his residence following a brief illness. A self-employed logger, employee of Hobbs Tire Shop and member of Hebron Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Dalton and Myrtle Nunley Hobbs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert and Hall Hobbs and three sisters, Cora Mae Jennings, Willie Rhea and Louise Harlowe. Mr. Hobbs was married December 15, 1962 to Louise Hobbs of the Irving College Community. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Rita Gail and Roy Pack of the Irving College Community and Sherry Ann and Hugh Slaughter of McMinnville; six grandchildren, Michael (Heather) Pack, Dustin (Megan) Pack, Tabetha Pack, Dalton Pack, Gavin Slaughter and Braelin Slaughter; four great-grandchildren, Jaxon Rhea, Eli Pack, Paisley Honeycutt and Branson Pack and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service and interment will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, November 17, 2014 at Hebron Cemetery with Chris Perry officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Family and friends will meet at Hebron Cemetery for the graveside service.
