Mary Elizabeth Martin Meeks

Morrison, TN resident and Coffee County, TN native Mary Elizabeth Martin Meeks, age 80, was born August 2, 1934 and died November 19, 2014 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN following a brief illness. A retired employee of Carrier Corporation and a faithful member of Morrison Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Burr Hoover and Leola Mae Prater Martin. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Steve Caldwell of McMinnville; three grandchildren, Trista Gibson and husband Kenny of Murfreesboro, TN, and Cristy and Leslie Caldwell both of McMinnville; six great-grandchildren; brother, Joe B. Martin of McMinnville; sister, Evelyn Richardson of Murfreesboro, TN; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Ms. Meeks was a past member of the Morrison Parliamentary Club, a volunteer at River Park Hospital for "Just Friends", and a member of F.C.E. (Vinson Crossroads Family Community Education Club). Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 22, 2014 in High's Chapel with Roger Comstock officiating. Burial will follow in Morrison Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at High's. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels.
