Velma Fay Maggart

Morrison, TN resident and Cheatham County, TN native Velma Fay Maggart, age 78, was born February 11, 1936 and died December 12, 2014 at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville following an extended illness. A homemaker and a member of Ivy Bluff Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late George Wesley and Minnie Hazel Barnes Adcock. She was married in 1950 to Hollis Edgar Maggart who preceded her in death October 30, 2009. She is survived by five children and their spouses, Tony and Shirley Maggart of Bradyville, TN, Reba and Darrell Milburn of McMinnville, Judy and Richard Miller of Pennsylvania, Jerry and Glena Maggart of Florida, and Julie and Hamilton Hobbs of McMinnville; twelve grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; sister, Edna Frances Judkins of McMinnville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 16, 2014 in High's Chapel with Brian Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at High's.
