Brenda Sue Shockley

Bone Cave, TN resident and Van Buren County, TN native Brenda Sue Shockley, age 66, was born September 24, 1948 and died January 1, 2015 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN following an extended illness. A retired employee of Oster Corporation and member of the Mt. Elim Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Rube and Myrtle Hillis Yates. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Lynn Shockley. Mrs. Shockley was married August 15, 1967 to Marvin Shockley of Bone Cave, TN. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sisters, Linda (Marlion) Hillis of the Rocky River Community and Wanda (Morris) Holt of McMinnville; brother, Jimmy Yates (Donna Walker) of the Rocky River Community and sisters-in-law, Melba Slaughter of McMinnville and Sue Shockley of Bone Cave, TN. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Sunday, January 4, 2015 in High's Chapel with Willard Ralph, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Long Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN. Visitation will be held from 2:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday and 9:00 a.m. until time of service Sunday at High's.
