Gerald Houston Slatton

Gerald Houston Slatton, age 82, a McMinnville, TN resident and Van Buren County, TN native died January 4, 2015 at River Park Hospital following a brief illness. He was a retired Church of Christ minister, teacher with the Warren and Van Buren County School Systems, member of McElroy Church of Christ and son of the late George Houston and Evie McCoy Slatton. He was married to Faye Howard Slatton who preceded him in death. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by sisters, Virgie Casteen and Zelmadean Collier and great-nephew, Tom Bouldin. Mr. Slatton is survived by son, Larry (Terri) Slatton of McMinnville; four grandchildren, Tyler Slatton, Shannon Lamb and Angie Holland of McMinnville and Mike Slatton of Morrison, TN; five great-grandchildren, Tiffany and Alicia Slatton, Hannah, Samantha and Nathan Slatton; two great-great-grandchildren, Harmony and Sophia; brother Lonnie (Betty Ruth) Slatton of Quebeck, TN and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 6, 2014 at the McElroy Church of Christ with Doug Goff to officiate. Interment will follow in the McElroy Cemetery in Van Buren County. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of service at 12:00 p.m. at McElroy Church of Christ.
