McMinnville, TN resident and Overton County, TN native Charles Jackson Conner, age 78, was born January 10, 1936 and died January 9, 2015 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness. A retired foreman from Carrier Corporation, a United States Air Force veteran, a member of the Church of Christ, and a long-time member of the Warren County A&L Fair Board, he was the son of the late Willie "W.R." Robison and Florence Daniels Conner. He was married March 2, 1956 to Mary Ella "Nicki" Nicklow Conner who preceded him in death February 7, 2009. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son; and sister, Alda Foust. He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Sharon Conner of the Centertown Community; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Curtis Davenport of Woodbury, TN; six grandchildren and spouses, Teresa and Patrick Smith, Chad Conner, James and Kristin Davenport, Johnathon and Crystal Conner, Danielle and Philip Smith and Austin Conner; four great-grandchildren, Blake Brown, Conner Smith, Zoie Conner and Haley Smith; brother and sister-in-law, Robert Junior and Ann Conner of Christiana, TN; and sister, Dean Gilley of Michigan. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 15, 2015 in High's Chapel with Doris Hughes and Brandon Parsley officiating. Inurnment will follow in Unity Cemetery with military honors administered by American Legion Post 173. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at High's.
