Spencer, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Lucille Shockley, age 84, was born January 26, 1930 and died January 19, 2015 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. A retired restaurant cook and factory worker and a member of Piney Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Odell and Beulah Mai Hale Simmons. She was married August 8, 1948 to James Louis Shockley who preceded her in death October 8, 2008. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Larry Smotherman of Spencer, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Elizabeth Ann Shockley of Spencer, TN; two granddaughers, Libby Webster of Murfreesboro, TN and Marie Shinabery of Smithville, TN; two great-grandsons, one great-granddaughter, two step-great-grandsons, one great-great-granddaughter and one great-great-grandson; sister and brother-in-law, Elva Carter and James Evans of Spencer, TN; several nieces and nephews; three sisters-in-law; and one brother-in-law. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 22, 2015 in High's Chapel with Royce Farris and William Shockley officiating. Burial will follow in Shockley Cemetery, Van Buren County, TN. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at High's.
