Harry Ward Camp died January 27, 2015 at the age of 83. He is survived by Jane Camp, his wife of 57 years, by his daughter Carol White and husband Jim, by his son Scott Camp and wife Patsy Brison, by grandchildren Betsy and Scott White, as well as by his sister Jan Saunders, and numerous nieces and nephews. His parents were Scott and Elizabeth Walton Camp of Sparta. He was a graduate of Sewanee, The University of the South, and of Vanderbilt University Law School where he was president of the Vanderbilt Bar Association (student body) and associate managing editor of the Vanderbilt Law Review. He practiced law for more than 50 years, and was a member of the Christian Legal Society. Widely known and respected for his wisdom and judgment, he was consulted for advice and assistance long after his formal retirement. He was a Christian, and served as national president of the Board of Aldersgate Renewal Ministries for nine years and as a life member of the Board. He completed the mentorship and was certified as a spiritual director by Stillpoint in Nashville, and taught courses in the Caribbean College of the Bible. At First United Methodist Church, McMinnville, he was a teacher, officer, lay leader, mentor, choir member and sometime worship leader for more than five decades. Visitation and a celebration of life service will be at the Outreach Building of First United Methodist Church, McMinnville. Visitation will be Friday, January 30 from 6 - 8 p.m. CST and Saturday, January 31 from 12:30 - 2 p.m. The service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, with the Reverends James Johnson and Frank Gale officiating.
