Cookeville, TN resident (formerly of McMinnville) and Warren County native Newton P. Gribble, age 94, was born September 15, 1920 and died February 8, 2015 at Upper Cumberland Hospice in Cookeville, TN following a sudden illness. A retired Church of Christ minister, he was the son of the late Perry Andrew and Ona Belle Glenn Gribble. He was married September 28, 1942 to Pauline Golden Gribble who preceded him in death. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Marolyn Sue Gribble and Trudy Zo Gribble; brother, Clayton Gribble and sisters, Nellie LePere, Johnnie Slatton and Perry Jean Womack. Mr. Gribble is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Price and Penny Gribble of Killen, AL and Sid and Sheila Gribble of Cookeville, TN; two grandchildren, Chris Gribble of Atlanta, GA and Andrew Gribble of Cookeville, TN; sister, Laura Wiser of Murfreesboro, TN and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2015 in High's Chapel with Jeremiah Tatum, Jim Boyd and Wayne Cantrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday and 9:00 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at High's.
