Betty Jane Ramsey

McMinnville, TN resident and Sewanee, TN native Betty Jane Ramsey, age 80, was born September 24, 1934 and died February 12, 2015 at River Park Hospital following a brief illness. A homemaker and member of East End Dr. Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Ardella Winton Rutledge. She was married to Louis Leroy Ramsey who preceded her in death January 27, 1995. She is survived by three sons and daughter-in-law, Louis Leroy and Darlene Ramsey, Jr. of McMinnville, Richard Glenn Ramsey of Duluth, GA and Chad Everett Ramsey of McMinnville; three grandchildren, Matthew Lynn Ramsey, Christopher Ryan Ramsey and Aleis Tineill Randolph, one great-grandchild, Maddison Aliana Faith Ramsey; brother, Bennie Richard Rutledge of Dayton, OH; childhood friend, Kay Woodard; special friends, Ella Richmond, Susie Smith, Dorothy Solomon, and Martha, Odie and Annie Womack; devoted niece and nephew, Roxie Martin Franklin and husband Fredrick and Robert Martin and wife Maggie; special cousin, Henrietta France; and special thanks to Beverly Martin. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2015 in High's Chapel with George King officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service Wednesday at High's.
