Leon Ward

Leon Ward, age 84, a Rockvale, TN resident and Warren County, TN native died February 17, 2015 at Woodbury Health Center following an extended illness. He was a self employed dairy farmer, member of the Baptist Church and son of the late Mattie Edgar and Winnie Addline Jones Ward. He was married February 4, 1954 to Willie Louise Bettis Ward who preceded him in death November 25, 2010. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Lydia Foster, Edith Taylor, Pauline Bond and brothers, Virgil, Margel and Clinton Ward. Mr. Ward is survived by six children, Deborah Baker of Manchester, TN, Leon R. Ward, Jr. of West Covina, CA; Malcomb Ivan (Carolyn) Bettis of Cleveland, TN, Terry L. Ward of Smyrna, TN, Sherry Lynn Jenkins of Rockvale, TN and Edgar DeLon (Bea) Ward of Woodbury, TN; 12 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen (Billy) Basham of McMinnville and Norma Jean Davenport of Woodbury and one brother, W.L. (Bea) Ward of Westmoreland, TN. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 21, 2015 in High's Chapel with Tommy Womack and Jonathan Womack to officiate. Interment will follow in the Providence Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, February 20, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday at 9:00 a.m. until time of service at High's.
