Miss Janie R. Moore

Morrison, TN resident and DeKalb County, TN native Miss Janie R. Moore, age 72, was born February 16, 1943 and died March 28, 2015 at River Park Hospital following a brief illness. A retired educator and principal at Centertown Elementary School and a member of the Methodist Church, she was the daughter of Willie L. Fuston of Morrison, TN and the late James C. Moore. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by brother, James Alfred Moore; grandparents, Edgar and Bula Medley Maggart, and Lee and Stacy Certin Moore. In addition to her mother, she is survived by sister, Teddie Greene of Morrison, TN; brother, Johnny Bost of Morrison, TN; and two nephews, Luke Greene and Seth Greene both of Morrison, TN. She attended Dibrell School and was an active basketball player. She went on to college at MTSU, working to put herself through school, completing her Master's Degree after teaching 18 years. She graduated college and started an education career in Canton, GA, where she taught for two years. She then came back to Warren County, teaching at Morrison Elementary School. She left Morrison and went to Centertown, teaching History for 18 years. She was the Principal at Centertown School for 23 years, retiring in 2011. She left an impression on all students and faculty that had the pleasure of knowing her. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2015 in High's Chapel with Dave Dawson officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery @ Barren Fork. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Monday at Highs's.
