Gail Northcutt Mahar

September 15, 1950 — April 1, 2015

Gail Northcutt Mahar, age 64, a McMinnville, TN native and Knoxville, TN resident died suddenly April 1, 2015 at the Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville. She was a dedicated oncology nurse practitioner who committed her life to the care and betterment of others, member of Parkwest Church of God and daughter of Tenia Myers Northcutt of McMinnville and the late Malvin Monel Northcutt. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by father-in-law, Paul Mahar, Sr.; brother-in-law, Wayne Barkes and sister-in-law, Pam Mahar. She had music in her soul and played many instruments far and near from her Gibson Dove guitar to her bluegrass saw. She was married August 22, 1970 to Paul Bruce Mahar who survives. In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by children, Paul Jason Mahar, Patryce Mahar, Michael Mahar and Kylie Mahar; grandchildren, Ben Yeiser, Olivia Yeiser, Darien Daws, Jaimen Mahar and Alyssa Mahar; siblings, Rickie (Ruby) Northuctt, Debra Barkes and Tammie (Larry) Simons all of McMinnville; mother-in-law, Rose Mahar of McMinnville and sister-in-law, Sherry Mahar of Knoxville. Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 2015 in High's Chapel with Kenneth W. Kirby to officiate. Interment will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 2015 until time of service at High's.
