Austin Clinton Golden

Austin Clinton Golden, age 85, a McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native died suddenly April 15, 2015 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN. He was a personnel manager for Genesco for forty-eight years, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, member of Arlington Church of Christ and son of the late Alaska Elkana and Estella Pryor Golden. He was married to Lola Christine Stephens Golden who died December 25, 1995 and Nina Upton Grandey who died April 18, 2010. In addition to his parents and wives, he was preceded in death by sisters, Pauline Gribble, Henrietta Patton Mabery and Doris Whitlock; and brothers, Arthur and Hubert "Hoss" Golden. Mr. Golden is survived by daughter, Lolita Golden Jones and husband, Karl of Winchester, TN; three step-children, Steve (Carol) Grandey of Rock Island, TN, Mike (Deborah) Grandey of Apopka, FL and Joey (Debra) Grandey of Bradyville, TN; eight grandchildren, Brooke Jones and Austin Jones of Winchester, TN, Shane (Kristin) Grandey of Temperanceville, VA, Beckee (Terry) Bell and Leah Grandey of Rock Island, TN, Lauren (Jacob) Bratcher of Chattanooga, TN, Katherine Grandey and Jessica (Matt) Buckley of Florida; twelve grandchildren, Tyler Bell, Trevor Bell, Travis Bell, Rachel Bell, Kirkland Grandey, Elizabeth Grandey, Ryan Grandey, Sutton Pearsall, Ona Grandey, Mae Grandey, Sheena Buckley and Chris Buckley; brother, Edwin (Joyce) Golden of Tishomingo, MS; and three sisters, Alice Cantrell of Viola, TN, Stella Parker Grissom and Nelta Jo (Donald) Cantrell of McMinnville. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2015 in High's Chapel with Jon Simmons and Wayne Cantrell to officiate. Graveside service and interment will be at 2:00 p.m. in Franklin Memorial Gardens in Winchester, TN. Visitation will be Friday, April 17, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at High's.
