McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Aubrey J. Williams, age 104, was born February 25, 1911 and died April 26, 2015 at Raintree Manor. He was the son of the late Johnie Richmond and Josephine Parilee Tramel Williams. His beloved wife, Rose Carrie Danielson Williams, preceded him in death November 3, 2007. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Greenie Clasby Williams, William Dallas Williams, Harley Elo Williams and a brother who died at birth; nephews, Grady Clasby Williams, Harley Elo Williams, Jr. and Johnny Lee Williams; and niece, Virginia Williams Nokes. He is survived by two nieces, Etta L. Williams and Johnie Elaine Alexander both of Williamson County, TN; great-nephew, Jeffrey Earl Alexander and wife Angela of Williamson County, TN; extra special great-great-nieces, Emily Grace Alexander, Logan Rose Alexander and Maggie Kate Alexander all of Williamson County, TN; great-nephew, Gregory Lynn Alexander and wife Brooke Lyon of Athens, OH; and their children, Gabriel Lynn Alexander, and Thorn and Raj Lyon all of Athens, OH. Aubrey attended the Oak Grove School, and served in the United States Army during WWII. For over forty years, he worked at the Brown Hotel in downtown McMinnville. Twenty of those years were spent as Manager of the hotel. He was a devout Christian, and worshiped at the Oak Grove Church of Christ as a boy, and in later life at Central Church of Christ. He enjoyed going out to eat with friends and family members when they came to visit. He also enjoyed Decoration Day at the Oak Grove Cemetery where his parents are buried. On these excursions, he especially liked to visit the "home place" where he was born and raised. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2015 in High's Chapel, with words from Aubrey's long-time friend, Bobby Newby. Ben Bailey, minister at Central Church of Christ, will then share thoughts. Burial will follow in Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at High's. Aubrey's family wants to thank those who sent cards, visited him and said special prayers on his behalf.
