Bertha Jane Mitchell

McMinnville, TN resident and Cannon County, TN native Bertha Jane Mitchell, age 100, was born February 10, 1915 and died April 30, 2015 at River Park Hospital following a brief illness. A retired cafeteria worker at Warren County High School and a member of Bonner Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Henry J. and Della Youngblood Thomas. She was married to Arthur Alexander Mitchell who preceded her in death on June 2, 1992. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Clara Thomas; and brothers, Ray Thomas, Shelah Thomas, Selmar Thomas, Willie J. Thomas, Wesley Thomas and John Thomas. She is survived by daughter, Judy Mitchell of McMinnville; caretakers, Al and Marietta Stotts of McMinnville; sister-in-law, Dorcie Lee Thomas of Woodbury, TN; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2015 in High's Chapel with Tim Long officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery @ Barren Fork. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday and from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service Sunday at High's. Donations may be made to Pacesetters.
