Essie Hillis

McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Essie Hillis, age 88, was born September 18, 1926 and died June 10, 2015 at Raintree Manor following an extended illness. Retired from Formfit Rogers and a member of Bybee Branch Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late H.J. and Sara Elizabeth Walker Stanley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Junior Stanley, C.B. Stanley and Gentry Stanley; and three sisters, Roberta Brooks, Bernice Fults and Christine LaFevers. She was married to Kelly Roswell Hillis of McMinnville. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, John Hillis of McMinnville and Stanley and Sandra Hillis of McMinnville; six grandchildren and spouses, Jason R. Hillis, Amanda D. and Tim Gann, Megan L. and Sam Patton, and Aimee L. and Ronnie Bielling all of McMinnville, Karrie E. Hillis of Fountain Inn, SC, and Ryan C. and Julie Hillis of Ontario, CA; twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. A graveside service and interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 11, 2015 in Crain Hill Cemetery with Tony Lawrence officiating. Visitaton will be from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Thursday at High's. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels or Boyd Christian School.
