McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Lenia Mai Whitlock Smith, age 79, was born November 12, 1935 and died June 20, 2015 at her daughter's residence following a brief illness. Retired from Formfit Rogers and a member of Shellsford Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Casey Lee and Maude Frances Alley Whitlock. She was married December 24, 1954 to Elbert Mason Smith who preceded her in death January 23, 2006. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Morris and Johnny Whitlock; and son-in-law, Kenneth Shirley. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Mary and George "Bo" Roller of McMinnville; two grandsons and spouses, Kenneth Mason and Retta Shirley of Bentonville, AR and James Casey and Natalie Shirley of Olive Branch, MS; granddaughter, Maci Alivia Shirley; sister, Shirley Crouch of McMinnville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert Lee and Linda Whitlock of McMinnville and Ronnie and Betty Whitlock of Smithville, TN; three sisters-in-law, Carolyn Whitlock and Millie Draper both of McMinnville, and Marty Kay of Austin, TX; three step-grandchildren, George Roller and wife Mary of Smithville, TN, Victor Roller of Smithville, TN and Lynna Martin of Shelbyville, TN; special friends, Alice Kinnard and Brenda Sullivan; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Mrs. Smith served on the board of Families in Crisis, was a recipient of the Book of Golden Deeds Award, and operated her own catering business. Special thanks to Amedysis Hospice and Melinda Beck and Diana Hill. Funeral sevice will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 22, 2015 in High's Chapel with David Daugherty, and Ken and Casey Shirley officiating. Burial will follow in Shellsford Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Monday at High's.
