Teddy Lee Flatt

Teddy Lee Flatt, age 65, a Sherrill’s Ford, NC resident and Lebanon, TN native died July 13, 2015 at his residence following a short illness. He had a career as an engineer, in production management, sales and marketing. He was a 1968 graduate of Columbia Central High School, attended TN Tech University graduating in 1972 majoring in Industrial Engineering and received his master's in business from the University of TN in 1974. He had worked with Ingersoll Rand 1974-2001 and the Doosan Company from 2001-2013. He was a member of the Church of Christ and son of the late Lee William and Catherine Pruett Flatt. Mr. Flatt is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan & Allysa Stern Flatt of Wilmington, NC; sister and brother-in-law, Kathy & David McMurtry of Brentwood, TN; brother and sister-in-law, Larry & Jane Flatt of McMinnville; nieces and husbands, Michele & Adam Bacalan and Jennifer & Joel Allen; two great-nephews and many friends in McMinnville, Columbia, TN and Sherrill’s Ford, the places he has lived and worked during his life. Graveside service and interment will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 20, 2015 in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in McMinnville, TN with Tony Lawrence and Joe Gray to officiate. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Monday at 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at High's. Memorials may be made to the I.C. Flatt Cemetery Fund or the American Kidney Foundation.
