Wayne Lyndon Green

Rock Island, TN resident and Grundy County, TN native Wayne Lyndon Green, age 74, was born August 20, 1940 and died July 26, 2015 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness. A self-employed construction worker, he was the son of the late Walter and Grace Walene Roberts Green. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Timmy Green; brothers, James and Huston Green; long-time companion, Johnnie Mae Jones and grandson, Jeremy Lee Freeman. Mr. Green is survived by a sister, Lorena (Clarence) Argo of Gainesboro, TN; step-daughter, Cheryl Ann Womack Freeman of Rock Island, TN; granddaughter, Chloe Leann Freeman of Rock Island, TN; great-grandson, Jeremy Alan Lamb of Rock Island, TN and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 1, 2015 at the Rock Island State Park Sand Bar Pavilion with Danny Jones and Teddy Jones officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Jefferson Cemetery in DeKalb County, TN.
