Dorothy C. Hollis

Dorothy C. Hollis, 89 of Bowling Green, KY, was born May 13, 1926 and died Tuesday, August 04, 2015 at Colonial Center. The Beech Grove, TN native was the daughter of the late Wade and Mattie Lou Cathey. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Robert Hollis. Dorothy was a member of Lost River Church of Christ. She was an avid bowler and belonged to a women’s league for over 50 years. Dorothy was a loving wife, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, and great-great- aunt. She had a loving, motherly nature about her to all children, especially her nieces and nephews. She is survived by her three brothers, Jerry Cathey and wife Dot, Don Cathey and wife Martha, and Richard Cathey all of McMinnville. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Jean Cathey; and four brothers, J.N. Cathey, Buddy Cathey, Leon Cathey and Billy Cathey. Visitation is 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 6, 2015 at J. C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel in Bowling Green, KY. Funeral is 1:30 p.m Friday at the funeral home. Visitation will begin after 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Bowling Green.
