Aubrey James Hutchings

July 15, 1934 — August 20, 2015

Aubrey James Hutchings, age 81, a Dibrell Community resident and White County, TN native died August 20, 2015 at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville, TN following a brief illness. He was a U.S. Army veteran, member of Bluff Springs Church of Christ and son of the late Foster Brown and Lillian Novella Morgan Hutchings. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Louise Dowsett and nephew, Billy Hutchings. Mr. Hutchings was a retired employee of John Deere and though he wore many occupational hats during his life, after his "retirement" his passion was growing vegetables to sell at the Farmer's Market in McMinnville. He and wife, Velma enjoyed meeting customers and making friends at the market. He was married June 26, 1954 to Velma Moffitt Hutchings who survives. He is also survived by brother, Douglas Hutchings of Illinois; nieces Barbara Ford and Vickie Hutchings of Illinois and Theresa (Marty) Hancock of Iowa and nephew, Bobby (Carrie) Hutchings of Illinois. Also surviving are a host of his wife's nieces and nephews he considered his own. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 22, 2015 in High's Chapel with Teddy Jones to officiate. Interment will follow in the Webb Cemetery at Bluff Springs. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 21, 2015 and 9:00 a.m. Saturday until time of service at High's.
