Mary Margaret Dunlap Smith

Rock Island, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Mary Margaret Dunlap Smith, age 77, was born September 3, 1937 and died August 31, 2015 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN following a brief illness. A homemaker and a member of the Rock Island Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Euclid Miller and Lillie Sherrell Dunlap. She was married December 6, 1952 to William Fred Smith who preceded her in death on April 2, 2002. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Evelyn Sparkman, Virginia Murphy, Kathleen Freeman and Elaine Reeves. She is survived by seven children, Don Smith of McMinnville, Yvonne Mahaffa and Darlene Powell both of Morrison, TN, Debra Davis of Bradyville, TN, Freda Scott and Dawn Pedigo both of Rock Island, TN, and Jennie Smith of Woodbury, TN; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Norman Dunlap of Pensacola, FL and George Dunlap of Walling, TN; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 3, 2015 in High's Chapel with Michael Pelham, Mike Steakley and Will Daniel officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Thursday at High's. Memorial donations may be made to the Pine Bluff Cemetery Fund.
