J. B. McGregor

McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native J.B. McGregor, age 91, was born February 22, 1924 and died September 29, 2015 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital following a four-month illness. Mr. McGregor was a retired custom builder and a United States Army veteran of WWII. He was a deacon at First Baptist Church for 55 years. He started Colonial Building Supply and Ace Hardware with his son in 1980. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 125. He was the son of the late Charles S. and Castella Keathley McGregor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers. He was married June 28, 1952 to Charlene Underhill McGregor of McMinnville. In addition to his wife of 63 years, he is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Steve Roberson of Old Hickory, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Lindsay and Jileen McGregor of McMinnville; granddaughter, Kasi Stofflet and husband Jimmy of Sparta, TN; grandson, Salem McGregor of McMinnville; two great-grandchildren, Emmee and Witten Stofflet; two brothers-in-law, Brown Underhill of McMinnville and Joe Lentz of Knoxville, TN; sister-in-law, Clara Underhill of Chattanooga, TN; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 2, 2015 in High's Chapel with Bo Hendrix officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday and from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service Friday at High's.
