Uva Jean Barnes

Uva Jean Barnes, age 90, a McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native died September 30, 2015 at Woodbury Health Center following an extended illness. She was a retired sales clerk with J.C. Penney Company, member of the Presbyterian Church and daughter of the late Charles H. and Nannie Holt Lewis. She was married in 1942 to Raymond N. Barnes who preceded her in death November 29, 2008. Mrs. Barnes was a loving, caring mother and grandmother of sons Charles Ray & Ann Barnes of Murfreesboro, TN, Tommy & Patsy Barnes of Lebanon, TN; daughter Linda & Mike Durham of McMinnville; four grandchildren, Lynn Cope of Spencer, TN, Dawn McCravy of Murfreesboro, Chuck Barnes of Lascassas, TN and Melissa Barnes of Lebanon; step-grandson Brandon Durham of Virginia; step-granddaughter Candy Blankenship of McMinnville; ten great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. Two sisters Lois Basham of Murfreesboro and Ruth Witty of Woodbury, TN also survive. Funeral service will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, October 2, 2015 in High's Chapel with Harry Green to officiate. Interment will follow in the Trousdale Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 1, 2015 and 9:00 a.m. Friday until time of service at High's.
