Dorothy Maxine Slatton

Dorothy Maxine Evans Slatton, age 84, a McMinnville, TN resident and DeKalb Co., TN native died November 17, 2015 in St. Thomas River Park Hospital following an extended illness. She was a retired employee of Genesco, member of the Church of Christ and daughter of the late James Pope and Della Lorene West Evans. She was married November 28, 1953 to Jack Love Slatton who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by sisters, Kathy Jones, Brownie Pack and Judy Cunningham and brothers, Billy (Jean), Phillip (Linda) and Larry (Shirley) Evans. Mrs. Slatton is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Kreta Slatton of McMinnville; grandchildren, Sallie (Tim) Alexander of Rock Island, TN and Isaac Slatton of McMinnville; sister, Diane Templeton of McMinnville; brother, Fred (Shirley) Evans of McMinnville; brothers-in-law, Fletcher (Peggy) Slatton of Nashville, TN and Jim (June) Slatton of McMinnville and sisters-in-law, Patsy Austin of Rock Island and Joy Slatton of McMinnville. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 19, 2015 in High's Chapel with Trent Key and Bobby Southard to officiate. Interment will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2015 and 11:00 a.m. Thursday until time of service at High's.
