Overton Elbern "Ebbie" Hillis

Nashville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Overton Elbern "Ebbie" Hillis, age 67, was born May 9, 1948 and died December 6, 2015 at Alive Hospice in Nashville following an extended illness. A retired supervisor with the elevator division at Nashville Machine Company where he was employed for 48 years, and a veteran of the TN National Guard, he was the son of the late Elbern Overton and Mary Fugate Hillis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Stevie Hillis. He was married April 5, 1997 to Penney Hamilton Hillis of Nashville, TN. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Tyra and Mark Tutor of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and Elisha and Barry Pressly of Suwanne, GA; daughter of the heart, Trina (David) Desforges of Hermitage, TN; four grandchildren, Thea Tutor, Tai Pressly, Zoe Tutor and Kitt Pressly; brother, Gary T. Hillis of McMinnville; sister, Sandra Panter of the Irving College Community; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2015 in High's Chapel with Bobby Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow in Crain Hill Cemetery, Van Buren County, TN. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at High's.
