Stella Mae Caten

Stella Mae Johnson Caten, age 76, a McMinnville, TN resident and Van Buren County, TN native died December 9, 2015 in NHC Healthcare of McMinnville following an extended illness. Mrs. Caten was a homemaker, member of the Church of Christ and daughter of the late George Thomson "Jack McGuire" and Levina Polly Hale Johnson. She was married in July of 1960 to Edgar Howard Caten who preceded her in death on December 10, 2003. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by daughters, Wilma Ruth Atnip and Debbie Lynn Cherry; son, Edwin Howard Caten; sisters, Bessie Pearl Caten and Betty Kay Beech and brother, Coney Lee Tribble. Survivors include brother and sister-in-law, Johnny (Brenda) Johnson, Sr. of McMinnville; daughter-in-law, Rose Lorine Caten of McMinnville; sons-in-law, Bruce Atnip and Gary (Joyce) Cherry both of McMinnville; grandchildren and spouses, Jared (Holly) Cherry, Lynette (Jake) Hawkins, Joshua Caten and Melissa Jones all of McMinnville; five great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, David Williams and Susie Rogers and special niece Becky Hillis. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 12, 2015 in High's Chapel with Rick Lyles, Trent Key and Bruce Atnip to officiate. Interment will follow in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, December 10, 2015, 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 11, 2015 and 9:00 a.m. Saturday until time of service at High's.
