Gladys Young Prater

Morrison, TN resident and Cannon County, TN native Gladys Young Prater, age 85, was born May 17, 1930 and died December 18, 2015 at Raintree Manor following an extended illness. Retired from McMinnville Garment Company and a member of Morrison Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Houston and Hester Parker Young. She was married June 27, 1949 to Bobby Lloyd Prater who preceded her in death on September 28, 2011. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by mother-in-law and father-in-law, Shelah and Maurine Prater; and sister-in-law, Jean Young. She is survived by daughter, Pam Grizzle (Michael Jordan) of Morrison, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Roxanne Prater of Morrison, TN; grandson, Cain Prater and wife Brandi of Christiana, TN; granddaughter, Chelsey Grissom and husband Mike of McMinnville; two great-grandsons, Aiden and Asher Grissom; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; brother, Millard Young of Woodbury, TN; sister and brother-in-law, Flossie and Buell Warren of McMinnville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Donald and Teresa Prater of Morrison, TN and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 21, 2015 in High's Chapel with Jon Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in Morrison Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Monday at High's.
