McMinnville resident and Warren County native Velma Bell Hutchings, age 81, was born July 16, 1934 and died December 26, 2015 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital following and extended illness. A retired employee of Kingston Timers and member of the Bluff Springs Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Delia Curtis Moffitt. She was married June 16, 1954 to Aubrey James Hutchings who preceded her in death August 20, 2015. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Lester, J.C., Alpha and Jesse Lee Moffitt and five sisters, Eunice Christian, Wavie Hoover, Minnie Whiteaker, Dona Moffitt and Lona Kirby. Mrs. Hutchings is survived by nephews, George Christian, Garry Whiteaker, Charles, Steve, Tom and Bill Moffitt and Eddie, Terry, Larry and Mike Kirby; nieces, Jerelene Prince, Carolyn Doig, Kathy Wylie, JoAnn Gregory and Betty Whitlock and brother-in-law, Edward Kirby. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2015 in High's Chapel with Teddy Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Webb Cemetery @ Bluff Springs. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday and 10:00 a.m. until time of service Monday at High's.
