Brenda Carol Knight

McMinnville, TN resident and Bridgeport, AL native Brenda Carol Knight, age 73, was born August 4, 1942 and died December 31, 2015 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital. She was a graduate of the Baptist Hospital Nursing Program, and she received a Nurse Anesthesia Certificate from Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia. A retired certified nurse anesthetist at River Park Hospital and a member of Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church, she was the daughter of the late Homer Dayton and Ruby Matilda Rowland Self. She was married December 27, 1963 to Bryan E. Knight, Sr. who preceded her in death May 23, 2011. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Sharon Vaughn. She is survived by daughter, Amy Knight of Charlottesville, VA; son, Chip Knight of Houston, TX; five grandchildren, Eli Beech, Andrew Beech, Braden Knight, William Knight and John Knight; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Margaret Self of Maryville, TN and Bobby and Tina Self of Warren County, TN; special niece, Leigh Ann Freeze of McMinnville; and three nephews. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 3, 2016 in High's Chapel with Marcus Hayes and Harry Green officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Saturday and from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service Sunday at High's.
