Billy Turner

McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Billy Turner, age 81, was born August 17, 1934 and died January 11, 2016 at his residence following a sudden illness. A retired driver from Cumberland Lumber Company, a United States Army veteran, and a member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Bonner Lewis and Vergie Irene Newby Turner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, James Porter Turner; sister, Louise Julian; and son-in-law, Raymon Nunley. He was married November 21, 1953 to Laura Mae Roberts Turner of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by seven children and their spouses, Billy Wayne and Maureen Turner, Janie Nunley, Sandy Turner, Lisa and Ritchie Gilbert, Mike Turner, and Michelle and Teddy Grandey, Jr. all of McMinnville, and Vicki and Clark Rowland of Rock Island, TN; seven grandchildren, Josh Turner, Dana Lee, Maggi Fann, Jake Gilbert, Eli Gilbert, Nick Grandey and Nate Grandey; three great-grandchildren, Lacey Lee, Ryan Lee and Talon Fann; three sisters, Alberta Lee Bonner, Sue Robertson and Shirley Turner all of McMinnville; and two brothers-in-law, Gary Bonner and Carl Julian both of McMinnville. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, January 14, 2016 in High's Chapel with Gary Newby officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at High's.
