Josephine Virginia Martin

Josephine Virginia Martin, age 98, a McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native died January 20, 2016 in NHC Healthcare of McMinnville following a short illness. She was a homemaker, member of Clark United Methodist Church and daughter of the late Foster and Thula Looper Martin. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband, Raymond Martin; three sisters, Johnnie Lee, Hattie West and Willie E. Martin; two brothers, Vance Ray Martin and Tom Martin; and two grandchildren, Tom Weeden, Jr. and Rosalind Weeden. Ms. Martin is survived by six children, Mary Savage, Glenda (Kenneth) Smith and Willie Mae Martin all of McMinnville, Mildred (Joseph) Charlot of Louisiana, JoAnn (Thomas) Woodard of Springfield, TN and Raymond (Marcia) Martin, Jr. of Murfreesboro, TN; twelve grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; eighteen great-great-grandchildren; sister, Bertha Blackmon of Charlotte, NC; several nieces and nephews; beloved friend, Valeria Martin of McMinnville; and caregivers, Linda Roberts, Pam Goodwin and NHC Staff. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 25, 2016 in High's Chapel with Rev. Gerard Harlan to officiate. Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2016 and 1:00 p.m. Monday until time of service at High's.
