Kenneth Clyde Sweeton

January 9, 1930 — February 1, 2016

Kenneth Clyde Sweeton, age 86, a McMinnville, TN resident and Grundy County, TN native died February 1, 2016 in St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville following a sudden illness. He was a retired manager for Lear Siegler, member of Faith Chapel Church and son of the late John William Edward and Maude Effie Hargis Sweeton. Mr. Sweeton was married July 12, 1947 to Ruth Eloise Turner who preceded him in death on November 3, 2015. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by daughter, Cynthia Ruth Sweeton and three siblings. Survivors include children and spouses, Kenny and Melanie Sweeton and Gregory and Sarah Sweeton all of McMinnville and Rhonda and John Vorhoff of Garden City, MI; numerous grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and sisters. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 5, 2016 with Gregory Sweeton to officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, February 4, 2016 and 10:00 a.m. Friday until time of service at High's.
