Van Buren County, TN resident and Chattanooga, TN native, Jacqueline Woodlee Thompson, age 73, was born February 25, 1942 and died February 3, 2016 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. A homemaker and a member of Laurel Creek Baptist Church, she was the daughter of Josephine Woodlee and the late Livy B. Woodlee. She was married in 1958 to Hubert "Buck" Thompson. In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by three daughters, Leigh Speal, Amber Brock and Whitney Arnold; son, Andrew Thompson; sister and brother-in-law, Cathy and David Barks; one niece, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A truly remarkable woman has gone to be with her Lord. She was a devoted Christian, who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, and knew what it meant to suffer with a heart full of joy and gratitude to our God. She spent nearly a quarter of a century living with Multiple Sclerosis, and was in chronic pain every day. In spite of this, she always had a word of praise and thanksgiving to offer to Christ. She was a loving wife, daughter, aunt, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had a great passion for reading, and would often finish large books in one day to distract her from the pain. She also loved every type of animal that God ever created, even the ugly ones. Jackie is free now; free from pain and sickness. She is free from sin and its destructive power. She will be truly missed, but those who know her, rejoice in the painless reality she has entered into. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 6, 2016 in High's Chapel with Roy Terry and Jerrod Arnold officiating. Burial will follow in McElroy Cemetery, Van Buren County, TN. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at High's. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Laurel Creek Baptist Church Building Fund or the Warren County Humane Society.
