Evelyn Marie Humphrey

McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Evelyn Marie Humphrey, age 78, was born May 10, 1937 and died February 12, 2016 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital following a sudden illness. Retired from Findlay Industries and a member of Unity Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Brown and Nannie Elizabeth Jordan Prater. She was married to Charlie Humphrey who preceded her in death October 14, 2012. She is survived by five daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela and Freddy Basham, Sharon and Larry Ashford, Teresa and David Smith, Crystal Humphrey and fiance Kelly Lee, and Julie Humphrey all of McMinnville; 10 grandchildren, Marie Turpin, Thomas Ashford, Steven Lawrence, Matthew Lawrence, Tyler Smith, Ashley Smith, Emily Young, Travis Young, Raven Ward, and Nickalous Earls; ten great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donnie Prater of Tracy City, TN and Wayne Prater of McMinnville; and two sisters, Sue Burks and Patricia Smartt both of McMinnville. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 14, 2016 in High's Chapel with Harold Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Unity Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday and from 8:00 a.m. until the time of service Sunday at High's. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to help the family with funeral expenses.
