Edgar Wayne Pryor

Edgar Wayne Pryor, age 86, a McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native died March 14, 2016 at Raintree Manor following an extended illness. He was an Environmentalist with the Warren County Health Department for 34 years, the 6th District County Commissioner for 16 years, a United States Navy Veteran of Korea, member of Central Church of Christ, and son of the late Henry Curl and Martha Ann Golden Pryor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry Graydon Pryor and Joe Willis Pryor; and two sisters, Thelma Harris and Virginia Crouch. Mr. Pryor was married on November 21, 1956 to his wife of 59 years, Sally Davis Pryor, who survives. He is also survived by three children and spouses, Mitch and Angie Pryor of Murfreesboro, TN, Mark Pryor and special friend Rene Wilson, and Lesa and Paul Michael Barnes both of McMinnville; two grandchildren, Nada Jacobs and husband Skip of Manhatten, Kansas and Grace Martin and husband Randy of Knoxville, TN; two great-grandchildren, Mason and Mattie Grace Jacobs; two sisters, Anna Blair of the Centertown Community and Marta and Johnny Pitman of Murfreesboro; brother, Doyle and Barbara Pryor of McMinnville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2016 in High's Chapel with Grady Ward Partin and Bill Zechman to officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. View Cemetery with full military honors administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2016 and 11:00 a.m. Thursday until time of service at High's.
