Mary Dorothy Sanders

McMinnville, TN resident and Grundy County, TN native Mary Dorothy Sanders, age 80, was born September 7, 1935 and died March 17, 2016 at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN following an extended illness. A homemaker and a member of the Church of God, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Alice Risenor Sanders. She was married to Cebert Myers who preceded her in death on November 2, 2010. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by son, Burford A. Myers; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Marshall and Robert Sanders; and sister, Geneva Hobbs. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, William and Beverly Myers of McMinnville and Wayne and Anita Myers of McMinnville; daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Chris Johannsen of Smithville, TN; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; two step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren; sister, Willie Ruth Smith of Smithville, TN; and brother and sister-in-law, Lincoln and Wilma Sanders of Woodbury, TN. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2016 in High's Chapel with Pokie George officiating. Burial will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Coffee County, TN. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday and from 8:00 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at High's.
