Doris Lee Argo Starkey

McMinnville, TN resident and Grundy County, TN native Doris Lee Argo Starkey, age 79, was born October 31, 1936 and died April 24, 2016 at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville following a brief illness. A retired clerk with the Warren County Register of Deeds and a member of East End Church of Christ, she was married July 17, 1955 to J.M. "Donnie" Starkey. In addition to her husband, she is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Kent and Gina Starkey of McMinnville; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Ronnie Argo of McMinnville; seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Ronnie Jones of McMinnville; and several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by father, Leroy Argo; mother, Esther Beatrice Meeks Jones; step-father, Robert N. "Bob" Jones; and brother, Rob Jones. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at East End Church of Christ with Jim Boyd and Ray Weddington officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at High's. Memorial contributions may be made to East End Church of Christ Bible Call or Boyd Christian School.
