Anna M. Howery

Hixson, TN resident and Hartsville, SC native Anna M. Howery, age 98, was born August 16, 1917 and died May 2, 2016 at her residence. A retired nurse with the U.S. Army Medical Corps and veteran of WWII, and a member of the Presbyterian Church, she was the daughter of the late Herman H. and Christabelle Kirkley Eubanks. She was married to Garford Howery who preceded her in death in 1966. She is survived by son, Curtis Howery of Hixson, TN; sister, Betty McLean of Mt. Crogan, SC; niece, Barbara Stroud of McMinnville; and several other nieces and nephews also survive. A graveside memorial and inurnment will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016 in Grange Hall Cemetery with Harry Green officiating. Military grave rites will be administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. Family and friends are to meet at the cemetery. There will be no visitation or service at High's.
