James Howard "Jimmy" Smith, Jr.

James Howard "Jimmy" Smith, Jr., age 61, a McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native died May 8, 2016 following a sudden illness. He was a self-employed nurseryman, veteran of the U.S. Navy, member of Long Mountain Baptist Church and son of Loretta Ruth Simmons Smith of McMinnville and the late James Howard Smith. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by brother, Terry Smith. In addition to his mother, he is survived by children, Andy Smith and Kami Ward both of McMinnville; grandchildren, Angel Lance, Shelby Smith, Eli and Alan Ward; sisters and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Michael Meharg and Vickie Hodges all of McMinnville; brothers and sister-in-law, Timothy and Joyce Smith and Christopher Paul Smith all of McMinnville; and sister-in-law, Sue Smith of McMinnville. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A graveside service and interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2016 in Crain Hill Cemetery. Friends and family are to meet at the cemetery. There will be no visitation or service at High's.
