Mary Ruth Parsley Dunlap

McMinnville, TN resident and Ft. Worth, TX native Mary Ruth Parsley Dunlap, age 102, was born July 20, 1913 and died May 22, 2016 at Webb House Retirement Center in McMinnville following a brief illness. A retired clerk with Walmart and a member of New Bybee Chapel Methodist Church, she was the daughter of the late Sidney and Lula Virginia Rains Parsley. She was married December 17, 1934 to Elbert Wilson Dunlap who preceded her in death in 1967. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by granddaughter, Jerri Lynn Burch; brothers and sisters, Virgie Stewart, Joe Parsley, Horace Parsley, Rena Peterman, Agnes Dalton, Maude Starnes, Susie Fitzsimmons, Sidney Lee Parsley, Gertrude Hart and William Parsley. She is survived by four children and their spouses, Jerry Wilson "Buddy" and Doris Dunlap, Betty and Garrell Roberts, Mary Louise Brents and Peggy and Robert W. Jones all of McMinnville; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Michael and Stephanie Dunlap, Suzanne Dunlap, Alisa and Danny Collins, Darrell Roberts, Jim and Dinky West, Alan and Stacy West, Christine and Mike Moffitt, Chris Simmerly, and Matthew and Wendy Simmerly; and eighteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2016 in High's Chapel with Tim Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in New Bybee Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at High's.
